Drum Major Candidates are to follow this schedule and the guidelines for auditions.
Leadership Session will be held on April 15th
Drum Major Help Sessions/Practices will be held on April 16th and 30th and May 7th.
Drum Major Auditions will be held on May 11th
All of these sessions begin at 3:30pm and last until 5:00pm
All candidates are required to attend all sessions IN THEIR ENTIRETY in order to be eligible
Only students who have at least 1 year of experience in marching band, hold at least a 3.0 gpa, have no unexcused absences from band, and will be a sophomore, junior, or senior in 2010-2011, are eligible for candidacy.
Candidates will be judged on the following criteria:
The decision of who becomes drum major for the upcoming year will be posted within 2 days of the audition.
Due to the design and concept of our Competitive Field Show in 2010, there will only be 1 drum major selected for this year. In the event that additional leadership positions are needed, they will be drawn from other drum major candidates and leaders in the band program.
Other leadership roles in the band include:
Section Leaders, Squad Leaders, Property Master, Librarian, etc.
The roles of these leadership positions will be outlined in class.
The Drum Major is required to attend Drum Major Camp in the Summer.
