Drumline members must follow this schedule and these guidelines for auditioning.

Drumline / Pit Auditions will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 3:30pm

The following is required for the auditions on battery percussion instruments.

Snare, Quints, Bass Drum:

• Play two (2) exercises (judge's choice) from the 2010 Drumline Excercises while marking time. 25%
• Play two (2) selected rudiments from the 40 P.A.S. Rudiments in the open-closed-open fashion (your choice of rudiments - more credit will be given for "more difficult" rudiments). 25%

• Sightreading on the selected instrument. 25%
• Play prepared solo/etude/excerpt on the selected instrument. 25%

The following is required for the auditions on pit percussion instruments.

Pit Percussion:

• (Timpani Only) Tune Timpani from given pitch. 25% - (Mallets Only) Play 4 selected scales. 25%
• Play selections from the 2010 WCHS Pit Percussion Exercise Book on selected instrument. 25%
• Sightreading on the selected instrument. 25%
• Play prepared solo/etude/excerpt on the selected instrument. 25%

Results of the auditions will be posted within 2 days of the auditions.  After the battery and front ensemble percussion personnel are set, we will have weekly rehearsals after school scheduled until school releases for the summer.

In addition, all percussion members are required to attend the Jim Campbell Drum Camp in the summer, and Band Camp, which take place in the weeks prior to school starting.  More details regarding these camps will be given.
