1. Each student will be allowed to challenge a maximum of three times per semester (no challenges will be allowed for the month prior to Concert Band Festival).
2. You may challenge only the person seated directly ahead of you.
3. Any challenge that is refused is lost (some students may prefer not to take part and are therefore not required to accept the challenge... but they lose their seat).
4. Challenge music is selected by the director and is given to the students one week prior to the challenge date. Selections might include etude excerpts, scales, sections from band music, and sightreading.
5. All challenges are heard by the band director(s) or taped in a practice room on cassette recorder.
6. Results will be posted within two (2) school days.
