The Wayne County Symphonic Band has just completed a Jam-Packed Week! The Band performed at the KMEA State Concert Festival on May 5, performed their spring concert on the 6th, and competed in the Smoky Mountain Music Festival on May 9th! The band placed 2nd at the Smoky Mountain Music Festival and scored an 82. In addition, outstanding performance awards were given to the Flute Section, the Horn Section, and the Percussion Section. Outstanding soloist awards were given to Allie Parker on Timpani and Daniel Hicks on Trumpet! Outstanding Job! Gatlinburg was fun, too!

Congratulations to Madison Gooch for once again earning the position of Drum Major for 2008-2009!!
She will once again do an outstanding job!

The Wayne County High School Symphonic Band received a Division I rating at the District Concert Band Festival on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY. This qualifies the band for State Concert Band Festival on May 5th and 6th!

About the Wayne County Band
Welcome to the home of the Wayne County High School Band from Monticello, Kentucky.
This outstanding band program has always prided itself on excellence. Throughout the storied history of the band program, the groups have consistently earned Distinguished Ratings (Superior Ratings) in all areas including the Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Solos and Ensembles, etc.
Most recently, the marching band competed at the Tri-State Marching Band Festival at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. The band placed 2nd in their class at this prestigious competition and won 1st place Percussion, 1st place Colorguard, and Overall 1st place Drum Major.
The band continues this tradition with great support from the school system, band boosters, and the community.
The WC Band continually cultivates outstanding musicians who end up being outstanding members of society.
